GPS directions to Maleny from the Sunshine Coast will often take you on challenging routes, along steep and winding and even unsealed roads. To avoid this and to set yourself on an easier course, we, at the Maleny Visitor Information Centre, advise that when leaving the Sunshine Coast you enter LANDSBOROUGH or MAPLETON in your GPS. On arrival in either of these hinterland towns you will be able to follow directions, either by roadsigns or GPS to Maleny.

From Landsborough you will climb the long, steep hill on a good road. From Mapleton you will travel along the ridge through Flaxton and Montville.
